When does Easyhome’s 15-day period start?

By Anthony Casula Licensed real estate agent, IPI no. 509.677 Published 01-09-2026

The short answer

The 15-day period naturally runs from the moment the property actually goes live on the market, that is, once the mandate is signed and the listing is ready with photos and the PEB certificate and published on the portals. The exact contractual start point is set out in your sales mandate, so confirm it with your Easyhome office before you sign.

A promise measured in days only makes sense if everyone agrees when day one is. The intuitive answer is that the clock starts when the property is genuinely on the market and visible to buyers, not the day you first phone the office. In practice that means the mandate has to be signed and the listing has to be complete and published.

"Complete" is doing real work here. Before a property can go live in Wallonia, the file needs the essentials a buyer expects to see, above all professional photos and the Energy Performance Certificate (PEB), which is mandatory for any advertising, sale or rental. Until those are in place, the listing is not really on the market, so it would make little sense for the 15 days to be running.

This is also where preparation pays off. The faster the photos, the PEB and the legal documents are ready, the sooner the marketing window, and therefore the promise, begins. A seller who has certificates already in hand can shorten the run-up considerably.

Because the precise trigger is a contractual detail rather than a published figure, the honest answer is to read it in your mandate. The terms of the 15-day promise, including exactly when the period starts, are defined there, and your Easyhome adviser will confirm them with you before signing.
